This is the next instalment to introducing our Youth team, who volunteer at the community group Wimborne Town Youth group - affiliated to Wimborne Town Football Club.
Manager & Coach for Wimborne Town U12's Girl's at WTFC Grassroots Youth Section
I stepped up into coaching the girls more so my daughter and her friends could continue playing and evolving as a team. I’d only ever played before, never coached.
I started at U9s with them and we had great fun but we lost more than we won.
We then prodded over the next season and put some great results together. Throughout the U11 season the won all their games and only drew one game. This was a massive season for them and they still continued to play great football with a smile on their faces.
I feel very honoured to coach this great team who now have players representing Dorset and in the AFCB academy. This shows that success doesn’t come overnight, the girls have trained very hard and the development is great to see. We have expanded as a coaching team also with Graeme & Gav being a big support for the girls also.
We love being part of this teams football journey and can’t wait to see where it takes them.
Let’s keep up the hard work.
